This time of year...

i think that having a ton to do around christmas can go without saying...but it is sooo true! i do have to count my blessings because there was a time in my life when it was much busier. (ps i really really want to see four christmases) maybe i should start this blog....since it is new to me...by saying that i am doing this so i can remember some things about my life...that i really cant take a ton of pictures of...my poor family is getting a little tired of all the pictures....but one day they will thank me ") so...i attended two christmas activities this last week that have been great! the first was the Festival of the Nativity! my mom was on the committee so i have been hearing about it for awhile and then was able to help out all week.....let me just say..if you missed it...U MUST GO NEXT YEAR!!! it was the best way to get in the holiday spirit and thinking about the real meaning of chirstmas...maybe i should explain what it was. it was at the 12th and pearl building in tacoma. people loaned us their nativities for the weekend....my mom brought 50...now you know why she was on the committee ")the gym had tables with white linens and white christmas trees and lights everywhere...they kept the over head lights off and just had table lamps...it ended up that there were over 350 nativities!!!they also had a kids room with ones they would enjoy more...and last but not least my fav...the savior room! filled with pictures of the savior....in all stages of his life....they even had someone bring in a crown of thorns they bought in jerusalem!!! it was sooo cool. the spirit was so strong! the picture above was the baby jesus they used in the live nativity which families took turns dressing up for...oh and they had live christmas music. i think this will me my new favorite christmas tradition! and i cant wait for next year! this past thursday i went with my family to the singing christmas tree....sooo good. it is put on by this church in tacoma...and their choir sings...and they have people dancing and tons and tons of singing!....i enjoyed it so much! what a cool way to have a concert! although my favorite part was their live nativity...i almost cried! what would it have been like to be there...right! their costumes where amazing!thank you mandy for the idea! ") how lucky am i to have gone to two wonderful events about the savior!

this time of year it is sometimes hard to remember that it is not about the presents or equal time with families...or other things we get wrapped up in...it is about the savior. how gratefull i am for a loving heavenly father who sent his son to suffer and die for me! how grateful i am for a loving savior who not only suffered for me but showed me how i should live. for a savior who is always there for me...who listens when no one else will....who has a plan for me and guides me when i need help...and lets me figure things out on my own when i am doing ok. i am so gratful for a savior who blessed me with the restored gospel in my life. i pray for his help...to remind me of the wonderful blessing that christmas is....a time when everyone celebrates him and remember when another part of the plan got rolling....this birth!
